Here at Come2England we are getting ready for the London Film Festival and the best way to do it is to have some freaky marathons of some of the MUST-WATCH sagas of the last 50 years. Are you up for that? 🙂

Star wars (1977-2015)

Curiosities: When George Lucas wrote the script, the main character was supposed to be a girl and her planet was made by ice. But the producers advised him to change it as they thought that a guy would be much more accepted by the crowd. So Lucas changed them for Luke and Tatooine, the desert planet. Also, “Star Wars: A new hope” was the first movie where the merchandising became one of the most important resources as the sales of dolls, t-shirts, comics and laser swards was a complete success.

The lord of the rings (2001-2003)

: Considered to be one of the biggest and most ambitious film projects ever undertaken, with a budget of $281 million (some sources say $310 million-$330 million) the entire project took eight years, with the filming for all three films done simultaneously and entirely in New Zealand.

Curiosites: In March 2011, Warner Bros. announced to build a tourist attraction in the United Kingdom to showcase the Harry Potter film series, following a £100 million investment. It opened to the public in March 2012.

Plot: The film centres on Isla Nublar, an islet located in the Pacific Coast, near Costa Rica, where a billionaire philanthropist and a small team of genetic scientists have created a wildlife park of cloned dinosaurs.

Curiosities: It is based on the 1990’s same-named novel written by Michael Crichton. Jurassic Park is considered a landmark in the development of computer-generated imagery and animatronic visual effects. A fifth film is scheduled for June 22, 2018.
